Psalm 41:5-6 – My enemies speak evil of me: “When will he die, and his name perish”
And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; His heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes out, he tells it.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, The purpose of the devil for your life is to steal your visions, kill your dreams and destroy your destiny – John 10:10
It is interesting that one person who does not slack at pursuing his mandate with ferocity is the devil!
From serious mind attacks to afflictions of the soul and body, weariness, discouragement, depression and what have you, he does not shy away from using his weapons of mass destruction against you but the most subtle is the lies he so aptly tells.
This may sound weird to you but the devil knows scripture!!! (Keep in mind that in his temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11…he quoted many scriptures). The sad part of this is that he knows scripture probably more than many Christians do. This is unfortunate because it gives him an upper hand in such cases. 2 Cor 2:11
Consider mind attacks, The devil is aware of the word of God in Proverbs 23:7a – “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”
It is often said that “the mind is the battlefield where the battles of life are won or lost” – I agree!
Knowing this, he uses his ammunition of lies and in his usual subtlety, he does it in easily consumable portions.
He most often begins by sowing seeds of doubt about the reality of God’s promises into our minds which is often followed-up with an agitation of the heart (a troubled heart) and sometimes an affliction of the body or soul to validate his mission.
This underscores the importance of why every believer must study and meditate on the word of God.
In times of trouble, the Holy Spirit reminds us of what the word of God says concerning us and concerning the Devil and his schemes! Let’s take a look at God’s word concerning you and I:
1 John 4:4 – “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
Regarding the devil, let’s take a look at what the word of God says:
John 8:44b – “He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding on to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies”
This should make the decision easy for us and help us resolve to make the wholesome choice to believe God, at all times.
Perhaps you are facing dire circumstances today, or not, you must resist the devil and his schemes against you because he is a liar! he speaks lies and he spreads lies!!
Choose to believe the word of God. It is the truth about you. There is no variation in God, no change in Him – James 1:17. He is not a man that he should lie…! He is ever true! Numbers 23:19.
I am happy to journey with you…
