We make them everyday and multiple times within the day yet many of us are not cognizant of the tremendous impact our choices make on our lives.
In His love for man, God gave him a will – The ability and right to make his own choices. However, He also gave him His word which is His will, and the Holy Spirit to guide man in making the right choices.
Good judgement is to engage these divine tools before making our decisions.
I have discovered that it is wiser to choose to do His will over mine for one important reason: God is Omniscient (all-knowing, all-wise, all-seeing).
Where man’s wisdom is limited, God’s wisdom is infinite. He knows what is beneficial and best for us because he created us and chose our individual futures (predefined us). Simply, He sees beyond what we can see.
Consider Samson in Judges 14:3:
Then his father and his mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she looks good to me.”
Samson’s choice was not God’s will for him and his wrong choices eventually hindered his destiny and led to his death!
Proverbs 14:12 NIV
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
Our choices have inbuilt consequences so we must be careful how we make them. Never hasten to make a decision. Get God’s elevated view on it first!
Whether it’s a ‘big life move’ or a ‘small’ one, take instruction from the revelation in God’s word.
If unclear, take it to God in prayer and through His Spirit, He will give you further clarity. This way, you are sure to make the right choices.
Remember this: where you are today is a result of the choices you made yesterday.
As you go forward, purpose to engage good judgement in making choices. The fulfillment of your destiny will depend on it!
I’m delighted to journey with you!
