Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them. Hosea 14:9
Sometime ago my husband and I set out for our daughter’s new school. We put the address in our navigation system and started out. Our navigator’s calculation indicated that we would arrive at our destination in 13 minutes.
Great we thought!
So, with expectation and excitement, we followed the navigator’s directions for 13 minutes without doubting that we would arrive at the new school soon.
What a shock it was when we heard the words “You have arrived” but we knew we hadn’t! Actually, we had arrived at a family residence and not the school we set out for…How disappointing!!!
Confusion set in and we had to stop by a gas station to ask for directions…our navigator had failed us! We eventually arrived our destination in double the time we had anticipated!!!
Life is a journey which begins at the day of birth.
You must keep in mind that God, your creator ordered your journey…
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Psalm 37:23
His intention is to bring you safely and timely to HIS divinely ordained destination or “Destiny” which is His place of appointment for you.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
For your journey to successfully end at its intended destination, you must be armed with the right directions.
Direction is defined as: “a course along which someone or something moves” or “the management or guidance of someone or something”. A Director is one in charge of charting a course.
Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Are you the director or the guide of your life or is God in charge as the director of your life?
To arrive at your destination safely and on time, you must make God your director. Why?
Because He is trustworthy…Unlike my navigation system!, unlike other people and unlike you and I sometimes, God can be trusted…you never need to recalibrate your journey with Him, with Him you can be certain you will not be late nor would you ever need to abort your journey for lack of adequate direction. He never changes. You are guaranteed that your expectations of a safe arrival will not be cut short.
Other important reasons why it is wise to make God your director are:
- Because He ordained your destiny. He has the blueprint for your life.
- Because He knows all things. He is omniscient. He knows His purpose for you, how you will get there and how long it should take you to get there. He ensures you avoid unnecessary delays.
- Because He does not make mistakes. He is infallible and His wisdom is unlimited.
- Because He will never fail you! He is dependable, reliable and He is absolutely committed to you!
Therefore, take the command in Proverbs 3:5-6 to heart…”lean not” unto your own limited understanding or the understanding of man-made apparatuses for direction. It may lead to wandering!
Save valuable time and avoid wasting your God-given opportunities. Make God your director today and you can rest assured that He will never lead you to a dead end!
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
I am excited to journey with you!
